About M. Nicolas Silva
I moved to Chicago in the spring of 1974 and soon landed a job as a Photo Assistant working for a leading Photo Studio that specialize in product photography, mainly room sets. Back then they used the Deardorff Studio cameras with the bellows and squeeze bulb shutter releases. They were big and heavy. Weighing 850 lbs.
I worked for several different studios during my years in Chicago doing different things. My interests varied, as they still do and eventually my interest in room set photography waned and I soon found an interest in designing the rooms instead.
That led me to the American Academy of Art. After which, I got a job as a Set Designer but even that lost its interest and I ended up as a Set builder.
Now I write, with one book published and have gone back to my love of Photography.
